During the wait for it to get dark so the movie could begin. My lil nephews were playing catch with some other children not from our church. One child pushed my nephew and my wife's motherly instincts kicked in with a vengeance.
She suggested they defend themselves if they ever ran into that situation again. I had no problem with the wording defend yourself, but my definition of the word defend was much more different then hers.
I believe violence is and always should be a last resort. The term defend yourself does not have to mean fight. I suggested Trayvon Martin was the obvious example of how this type of defense of oneself could go extremely bad.
I wish we lived in a woirld (intentionally spelled that way) that we all were kind to each other and looked for the goodness more often. The best we can hope for is that we choose to Be The Good!!
